Completing the Other Cockatoo Intarsia

Hey all, two years ago my little cousin hired me to make a colorful cockatoo. While I was cutting out his project, I decided to cut another one at the same time but in white and yellow. I finished up his project and sent it off to him but mine has been sitting here since then. I decided I needed to finish it up, and that is what I am doing in this video.

The verse I picked has nothing to do with birds. 

I put Revelation 14:12 on the back and it says “Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of Yeshua.”

I love this verse, the entire context of what this verse is about isn’t captured in this one verse, but this one verse by itself does identify who the set apart ones are, they are the ones who guard the commands of Elohim, meaning those who obey the commands of God Almighty, and have the belief of Yeshua, which is Jesus’ name in the original language. So ones who believe and obey. Pretty important to understand in my opinion!

Repair of the Cardinal Intarsia

After I ran the drill bit through my entire project I wanted to fix it! And I do that in this video.

I had made an intarsia cardinal alongside my friend Keith while I was showing him how I make an intarsia. And when drilling some pilot holes for the hanger I ran the drill bit through to the front of the project. It went between two pieces, so I wanted to replace those two pieces. I am happy to say it was a success and I was able to replace those pieces!

Cardinal Intarsia

Husband and I have some friends, Keith and Sonja, and Keith would like to make and intarsia for Sonja. So in this video I am showing Keith how I go about making an intarsia. The pattern he chose is from Kathy Wise and is called Cardinal on Branch.

Baby Dragon Intarsia

This is a Bruce Worthington pattern. Humphrey Dunn and I both made our own rendition of this pattern and we posted them to social media on Bruce’s birthday to honor him and to let him know we are praying for him during his cancer treatments.

The woods I used are yellow heart, purple heart, padauk, ebony, aspen, and mahogany. 

I made a lot of mistakes which is nothing new, but I royally messed up the grain pattern on the belly. UGH! Live and learn. What I learned is I need to pay more attention!

Jesus Knocking Intarsia

In this video I am making an intarsia of Jesus knocking at a door. The pattern is from Bruce Worthington and is called The Knock. This is the largest intarsia that I have made measuring approximately 37 x 30 inches. The woods that I used include: Bloodwood, aspen, sequoia, pine, cedar, wenge, poplar(purplar), apple, blue pine, walnut, and some others that are a mystery to me. I enjoyed making this project.
