Ruler for Nev, to watch her grow.

The newest grandchild is now standing, so that means it is time to start measuring!

I decided to try routering (instead of wood burning) her height ruler and I liked doing that very much! I put a bunch of characters on her ruler including, Winnie the Pooh and his friends, Bugs Bunny and his friends, and a few buffalos and penguins.

I also added Psalm 139:16 to the back. It says, “All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old.” That is a pretty cool thought as you’re growing up and living life!

It was fun to measure her, she is about 2 feet 6 inches at 10 months old!!!

Psalm 139:16 (NCV) All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old.

Making Wind Chimes with Nadine and Noah

While Nadine and Noah were here we all made wind chimes! Nadine’s theme was gems and Noah’s theme went from arrows to Spiderman with a gun. Husband’s theme was a bumble bee and my theme was trees. We all picked out our wood, decorated them with some beads, strung some string, and put them all together. We had a good time and they sound really cool!

Making Wall Hangings with Nadine and Noah.

The grandkiddos, Nadine and Noah, are over for a few weeks for the summer! We made some projects using a walnut slab, driftwood, beads, mother of pearl, feather, sand, and lots of glue. We had a blast and the imaginations flew. We made a video to share with all of you.

We put some verses on the back of our projects too. Since the walnut is so dark I didn’t transfer the verses to the back, I either wrote them out or put the address. Noah picked John 3:16-God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life. Nadine picked Romans 3:23-  Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard. And I picked Romans 16:19- All the believers have heard that you obey, so I am very happy because of you. But I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.

Making Shells into Candles

I had some clam shells that I thought would be fun to make into candles. My daughter in law, Vika, helped me. When we started this project she was near the end of her pregnancy. So with the arrival of the baby, the candles were forgotten. In this video we make the candles and then later we come back and light them! The new baby joins us when we light them up! I’m thinking this video is really about the new baby and not about the candles so much. 🙂

Zebra Puzzle

I asked Ella, grandchild #3, what she would like me to make for her and her mom suggested a zebra puzzle. So in this video I make the puzzle for Ella! I used purple heart and some mystery wood. (it may be alder) I hot glued the boards together so I could cut them out at the same time and then swapped every other piece. So this is really segmentation with a twist! This also left me with 2 zebras! One is the puzzle and the other is a decoration.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 (NCV) You are all people who belong to the light and to the day. We do not belong to the night or to darkness.

Matthew 5:14 (NCV) You are the light that gives light to the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Shells and Driftwood with Nadine and Noah

My two oldest grandkids spent a week with us and we had a lot of fun. One thing we did was make a project using clam shells and driftwood. We had a great time painting the shells and putting the projects together. Grandpa helped by hanging Nadine’s above the bathroom door, and Noah and mine on the bathroom wall!

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the sky and the earth.

John 3:16 God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.

Romans 16:19 All the believers have heard that you obey, so I am very happy because of you. But I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.
