Video Series: Acrylic Pour Experiments

Acrylic Pour Experiment #1

I have heard about and have seen acrylic pour paintings. I have to paint a door and husband gave me the Liberty to paint it however I want so I thought it’d be really cool to paint it with an acrylic pour. So since I’ve never done it before, I thought I should practice. I ended up practicing a lot so I decided to make a four-part video series on my pouring practices. This is video number one.

Acrylic Pour Experiment #2

This is my second video in the series where I am trying out acrylic pouring. In this video I try making a feather. It turned out sorta of feather like. If you want to see an awesome feather check out this video, wow!!! Smart Art Material

Acrylic Pour Experiment #3

This is the third video in the series where I try am trying acrylic pours. In this video, I pour a resin layer over the top of the finished acrylic painting. I need some practice on that too, but I am learning a lot and having fun with it.

Acrylic Pour Experiment #4

This is the fourth and final video in the acrylic pouring experiments video series. In this video I am using TotalBoat acrylic resin for the entire pour. This seems to be totally different than pouring with acrylic paints so I felt like I was starting over. Colored resin is so pretty and retains that prettiness even after it is dry. So I hope I can figure this out and make some cool looking stuff!!! For now, I am still a novice, but an excited one!

Routered Club House Sign

Husband has been working on a huge project and he asked me to make a sign for it. So in this video I use the router and make a Grandkids Club House sign!!!  I also make a sign with all of our grandkids’ names on it but I don’t go over the process of making it in the video. At the end Husband hangs both signs up on the club house!

There will be a video on the build of the club house and that will be coming out as soon as he gets it all done! He’s almost there!!!

Proverbs 17:6 (NCV) Old people are proud of their grandchildren…

Myrtlewood Chair

My neighbor had some templates and a DVD instructional for a chair, so I attempted to make it! The style of the chair is from Sam Maloof and the dvd woodworker is Scott Morrison. I used Myrtlewood, maple, Ecuadorian Laurel, and some dark mystery wood. It didn’t go smoothly, but I did learn a lot!!!

Psalm 139:2 (NCV) You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them.

Horseshoe Fairy Doors

I’ve been wanting to make some little fairy doors for a while. I found some horseshoes in a local shop and thought those would be fun to make into the fairy doors! So that is what I do in this video, make a few different fairy, or whatever you want to call them, doors. I also tried flame finishing one of them!

Revelation 3:20  (NCV) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me.

Luke 11:9  (NCV) So I tell you, ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you.
